March 08, 2010

A woman whose healthy breast was moved out by a doctor is litigating for the destruction. The victim says the surgery was uncalled for.

Laurie Johnston, of Leamington, Ontario, is assaying $2.2-million in damages in the middle of several investigations into how she and at least one other woman became surgical victims.

Ms. Johnstons lawsuit names her surgeon, Dr. Barbara Heartwell; her pathologist, Dr. Olive Williams; the Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital, the Windsor, Ont., hospital where the surgery took place; and the Leamington District Memorial Hospital.
